What is ArchaeoXR?

Three 1:1 scale reconstructions of ancient Greek sites: the Acropolis, the Agora, and Olympia. Multiplayer, explorable, with voice chat and light interactions. 500+ guided tours delivered to educational institutions, cultural organizations, and private groups over six years.

The fundamental problem: all of it locked behind app downloads, platform accounts, and proprietary infrastructure. Social VR platforms don't support integrated ticketing, scheduling, or the control needed to run structured events at scale.

Now rebuilding the entire platform for the open web: migrating from Unity to WebXR (Babylon.js + Colyseus). Browser-native, click-to-enter. VR headset or desktop, same experience. Using Threadbaire (AI memory framework) to maintain project context across the migration.

The sites prove multiplayer immersive experiences work at scale. The platform makes them accessible, and finally gives them the ticketing/scheduling infrastructure Social VR never built.

FAQ

What's being rebuilt?

The entire platform is migrating from Unity to WebXR (Babylon.js + Colyseus). Browser-native, multiplayer, with integrated ticketing and scheduling infrastructure.

Can I explore the worlds now?

Yes! All three worlds (Acropolis, Agora, Olympia) are publicly accessible on VRChat and Spatial. These are the current Unity builds. Use the "Launch" buttons above to visit anytime.

When will the WebXR version be ready?

The rebuild is in progress. Follow updates on LinkedIn.

Why rebuild from scratch?

Unity doesn't support WebXR natively. Social VR platforms don't support ticketing, scheduling, or structured events. To make immersive experiences truly accessible and sustainable, we need open-web infrastructure.
